As photographers worldwide prepare their submissions across five distinct categories, we've compiled this guide to address common questions and ensure your participation experience is seamless.


Whether you're returning or submitting for the first time, we hope this information provides clarity and confidence as you prepare your entries.  Our mission remains to celebrate exceptional photography while providing an inclusive platform for artists at every stage of their creative journey.

The questions and responses below cover essential information about our 2025 International Photography Salon.  Building on valuable feedback from our inaugural event, we've enhanced this year's salon to be more accessible and rewarding for all participants.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What is the cost of submitting images into this salon?

    Registration for the salon is free.  Once your images are uploaded, payment is required to officially enter them into the salon competition.


    The entry fees are structured as follows:

    • 1 Section:  $20 CAD
    • 2 Sections: $30 CAD
    • 3 Sections: $40 CAD
    • 4 Sections: $50 CAD
    • Novice Level (Separate category, one section only): $20 CAD
  • How many photos can be submitted per category?

    You are limited to a maximum of four (4) images per section.

  • What is the cost of the salon catalog?

    There is no cost to receive the catalog.  Everyone who enters the salon will receive a free digital catalog.

  • Can I submit photos that have been entered in other competitions including local camera clubs, CAPA, or other international competitions (i.e. Toronto Salon, PX3, etc)

    You can submit award-winning images from any global competition.  However, any image that received recognition (medal, diploma, merit award, honourable mention, or acceptance) in our 2024 salon is not eligble for resubmission.

  • Can I submit images depicting individuals experiencing homelessness, infirmity, or people in crisis?

    Yes, images depicting individuals experiencing homelessness, infirmity, or people in crisis are technically accepted in most international phtography salons and exhibits.  However, these images should be created with respect for the subject's dignity and humanity.  The goal should be to cature the social issues rather than exploit.

  • Can I submit an image of graffiti into this salon?

    Image(s) featuring graffiti or street art are elible for our competition ONLY when they demonstrate substantial creative input beyond mere documentation, such as unique perspective, composition, inclusion of external elements or context that transforms the viewer's experience.

  • Does your salon's authentication team specifically verify submissions for AI-generated content, including both complete text-to-image creations and photographs that have been enhanced or manipulated using generative AI tools or features?

    To maintain the integrity of our salon, all potential winning images will undergo a thorough authentication process.


    Each potential award recipients will be required to proivide their original, unprocessed files (RAW, unedited JPG) along with any working files (XMP, PSD, DNG, etc) upon request.  This standard practice ensures compliance with our salon rules regarding permissible editing techniques.


    Please note that inability or refusal to provide these requested verification files when asked will result in disqualification, and awards will be distributed accordingly.  This process protects the credibility of both our salon and the achievements of all participating photographers who adhere to our guidelines.

  • What is the calendar of events for this competition and how committed is your Association committee to meeting all these milestones?

    Our salon committee is fully committed to adhering to the following competition timeline:


    • Open Date - Feb 15, 2025
    • Closing Date - May 15, 2025
    • Judging - May 16, 2025 to June 15, 2025 (including breaking ties)
    • Authentication of Images - June 16, 2025 (14 days)
    • Score Reports Sent - on or before July 1, 2025
    • Distribution of Awards & Electronic Calalog - Sept 2 to 25, 2025
