CAPA PHOTO SALON

SALON DE LA PHOTO DE L'ACAP

CANADIAN ASSOCIATION FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC ART | L'ASSOCIATION CANADIENNE D'ART PHOTOGRAPHIQUE

"What is a photo salon?"

A 'photo salon' can be best described as a photographic exhibition that also serves as a competition where photographers submit their images to be judged by a panel.

History of the CAPA Salon:

The inaugural CAPA Salon, known as the CAPA Digital Salon, was held in 2024 under the leadership of Shiree Jetha, the CAPA First Vice President and Salon Director.  This competition welcomed photographers of all skill levels from around the world, catering to a diverse audience. Participants had the opportunity to submit entries across five sections, competing for over 150 awards, including five IAAP(International Association of Art Photographers) Diplomas.

Building on the success of the inaugural CAPA Digital Salon, the 2025 Salon aims to elevate the event further, creating an even more exciting and competitive platform for photographers from around the world.

Photograph Integrity

As an Association that values artistic integrity and vision, we will only accept images produced using traditional photographic methods. Submissions involving AI-assisted techniques, such as generative fill or AI expansion, or fully AI-generated imagery, will not be permitted. As photographic technology continues to evolve rapidly, we believe it is essential to uphold standards that emphasize accurate and authentic representation.

Our aim is to provide a platform that celebrates the skill, effort, and imagination involved in conceptualizing and capturing exceptional photographs. We seek to inspire appreciation for photography as a discipline that demands technical proficiency, compelling perspectives, and insightful interpretations of the world around us. Photographers working in all styles and genres are warmly encouraged to submit their images for consideration.
